The chemical compound trichloroethylene is a halocarbon commonly used as an industrial solvent. It is a clear non-flammable liquid with a sweet smell. It should not be confused with the similar 1,1,1-trichloroethane, which is commonly known as chlorothene.
Groundwater and drinking water contamination from industrial discharge including trichloroethylene is a major concern for human health and has precipitated numerous incidents and lawsuits.

Product Application:

  • Trichloroethylene is an effective solvent for a variety of organic materials.
  • It has also been used as a dry cleaning solvent, although replaced in the 1950s by tetrachloroethylene (also known as perchloroethylene), except for spot cleaning where it was used until the year 2000.
  • Trichloroethylene was marketed as ‘Ecco 1500 Anti-Static Film Cleaner and Conditioner’ until 2009, for use in automatic movie film cleaning machines, and for manual cleaning with lint-free wipes.
  • TCE has also been used in the United States to clean kerosene-fueled rocket engines (TCE was not used to clean hydrogen-fueled engines such as the Space Shuttle Main Engine).
  • TCE is also used in the manufacture of a range of fluorocarbon refrigerants such as 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane more commonly known as HFC 134a. TCE was also used in industrial refrigeration applications due to its high heat transfer capabilities and its low temperature specification. Many industrial refrigeration applications used TCE up to the 1990s in applications such as car testing facilities.

Despite its widespread use as a metal degreaser, trichloroethylene itself is unstable in the presence of metal over prolonged exposure.
When inhaled, trichloroethylene produces central nervous system depression resulting in general anesthesia. These effects may be mediated by trichloroethylene acting as a positive allosteric modulator of inhibitory GABAA and glycine receptors.

RXSOL Gold Industrial Cleaner is a  biodegradable concentrate Liquid  used for cleaning and degreasing parts and equipment. This single solution, used in varying concentrations with water, can replace half a dozen or more other products, many of them hazardous and expensive, which must ordinarily be kept on hand in large shops.
RXSOL Gold Industrial Cleaner  is non-toxic, non-flammable and non-corrosive. It’s rust inhibitive, stable in long-time storage, and is not damaged by freezing. Furthermore, RXSOL Gold Industrial Cleaner  meets all OSHA requirements and conforms to the most rigid safety and performance standards set by leading industries.
RXSOL Gold Industrial Cleaner  helps to keep the equipment clean and corrosion free, eliminating lime and particle build-up on heating coils. Since RXSOL Gold Industrial Cleaner does not react with the oils it removes, the product can be recycled again and again through filtration systems with little or no loss in efficiency. RXSOL Gold Industrial Cleaner  disperses oils so there is no sludge build-up. When the agitation system is turned off, oils rise to the surface and can be easily removed, while particulate matter settles to the bottom leaving the solution clean and virtually new.

Using Procedure:
Heated Dip Tanks:
RXSOL Gold Industrial Cleaner should be used at a 1 part BGIC to 20 parts water concentration and heated to 140 degrees F. RXSOL Gold Industrial Cleanercan replace chlorinated hydrocarbons in vapor degreaser tanks with minor modifications. Vapor tanks can be easily and economically converted to a submersion system with the addition of a source of agitation. It is recommended that 60% of the tank volume per minute be moved in order to provide the best agitation. Air agitation is NOT recommended.
Ultrasonics:
RXSOL Gold Industrial Cleaner in a 5% concentration is a perfect cleaner to use in ultrasonic tanks. The tank should be heated to 140 degrees F. Parts washed in Blue Gold and thoroughly dried are protected from surface rusting for approximately 7 to 15 days. These parts can then be painted, welded or bonded with no further treatment.
High Pressure Sprayers & Steam Cleaners:
RXSOL Gold Industrial Cleaner is ideal for high pressure and steam cleaning applications. It keeps every part of the system clean and free of corrosion, thus reducing maintenance and down time. In application tests, it has been shown that the higher the pressure the lighter the concentration needed for effective cleaning. Methyl propyl ketone (MPK) or 2-Pentanone is a medium evaporating, urethane-grade solvent. It’s commonly used as a solvent for synthetic resins as well as in gravure printing inks and cleaning and surface preparation applications for the transportation industry. Though methyl propyl ketone is comparable to methyl ethyl ketone, MPK has a lower solvency and is more expensive.
Unlike other chemicals that are produced in a lab, methyl propyl ketone occurs naturally in Nicotiana tabacum, otherwise known as the tobacco plant. It can also grow in blue cheese as a metabolic product of Penicillium mold growth. The clear, colorless liquid has the odor of nail polish and is soluble in water.
MPK is an active solvent for most synthetic resins, such as acrylics, vinyls, epoxies and polyesters. Because it has a high solvency, low density and medium evaporation rate, it’s also useful as a letdown solvent for high-solids resins used in low VOC products. Methyl propyl ketone can also be found in the transportation industry as well as in gravure printing inks.

Product Application:

  • Besides these uses, methyl propyl ketone is a flexible coating type. It’s used for industrial wood, industrial maintenance and marine applications. The transportation industry relies on MPK for automotive OEM and automotive refinishes.
  • Perhaps most interesting is the aerospace industry and its use for MPK. As a non-HAP solvent alternative to methyl ethyl ketone and toluene, MPK meets the National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants requirements for hand-wipe cleaning practices in aerospace. With its ability to evaporate more slowly than MEK, more of the solvent stays on the wipe instead of being released into the air. This protects the environment and also prolongs the use of the wipe.

CTC Volc Cleaner is a very strong cleaner, which can be used to soften up / remove baked on drying oils and used after animal and vegitable oils, fish oils, tall oils, tug oils etc .It is low toxic product with an exceptional solvency power on soil & oily matter. Product Application:
Using-Procedure:
First of all flush the system with cold water to prevent evaporation rates and polymerization then the most economical method of using RXSOL-20-2028 is by direct injection followed by recirculation washing, using tank cleaning machines.
Spraying Method: Using CTC as delivered in drums, spray onto areas where residue remains following rough washing leave for 10-45 minutes (but do not allow to dry), then butter worth at maximum pressure and warm water 60oC for at least 3 hours, checking that there is no foam remaining in the final stages. Inspects tanks(s) and if desired result has been achieved fresh water rinse and dry.
Re- Circulation Method: Fill tank with fresh water and heat up to warm 50oC . IF a drop line is available on the tank line system, then start to circulate the water and add the required amount of Caustic flakes and CTC to make a 2.5% solution. A stronger solution can be made, but be advised that too much Caustic and too high temperature will result in white powder all over the tank. Under normal circumstances, between 2.5% and 4.5% will be sufficient strength. If there is no drop line, then lower butter worth hoses into the tank from the pump stack header without machines attached and circulate through these hoses while you fill the solution material.

This  powerful  SURFACTANT  based  cleaner  degreaser  works  where  others fail.  Formulated  with  several  different  ingredients including a dual surfactant system.  This formula works on extremely tough jobs that require extra strength.  Concentrated, this product may be diluted with up to 200 parts water for the greatest economy.   This product may be used for degreasing and contains corrosion protection.   Rust preventatives form a corrosion inhibiting coating when diluted cleaner is not rinsed from metal surfaces.

VOLC white Multi Clean :RXSOL-10-1083-025
A concentrated oil and grease solvent and emulsifier. Penetrates, dissolves and flushes away dirt , temporary coatings from metal and painted surfaces as well as wax, dirt, oils, greases from machinery, floors and equipment.  Emulsion Degreaser will not flash ignite below its boiling point (210 degrees F.) and is self extinguishing.
Its POLYMER formulation provides multi metal corrosion protection for 24-48 hours

Product Application:

  • Biodegradable, Heavy-duty temporary coating, grease and sludge remover
  • Effective cleaner for  for light oils and greases
  • No reaction with painted surfaces, Non-flammable
  • High Viscous liquid that will cling to ceilings and vertical surfaces in a ready-to-use formulation
  • Dilution ratio up to 0.5% also gives good results for cleaning.
  • Its Polymer based formulation gives corrosion protection on cleaned metal parts

Using Procedure:
Spray or mop Emulsion Degreaser over surface to be cleaned. If grease buildup is thick, score with a wire brush and mix with cleaner. Allow Emulsion Degreaser to stand for 10 minutes then hose off with water, preferably a pressure washer type system. Emulsion Degreaser can be used as a presoak or pretreat prior to cleaning with steam. For milder soils Emulsion Degreaser can be diluted with 10 parts of water. This dilution can be used in tanks or for swabbing off surfaces. Emulsion Degreaser can be used safely on ferrous metals and is excellent for degreasing concrete floors prior to painting. It can also be used on engine blocks, chassis, machinery and shop floors.

INDUSTRIAL CLEANING :
1st step ::: Apply full strength or diluted ( 40 part water and 60 PART RXSOL ) It can be sprayed with an airless, pot agricultural sprayer. Always test wet film coverage on a neutral surface before beginning.  Let the product stand (wet) for 2-6 minutes, depending on the film thickness of the product to be removed and the length of time that the coating has cured. Reapplication may be required.

2nd step ::: For Removal of product and coating ::: use POWER WASHER with Pressure: 50-300 psi (3.4-21 bar) Temperature: 115o-160oF (46o-71oC)
If the coating is not removed completely repeat step 1.

3rd STEP :::
For Cleaning Engine Blocks or Heavily Greased/Soiled Equipment:
1. Repeat step 1 above. The solution may be diluted to increase penetration. Let the product sit for 5-20 minutes.
2. Repeat step 2 above.
3. Repeat process as necessary until greased/soiled equipment is clean.

Avoid contact with skin and eyes. For contact with skin, flush with water. For contact with eyes, flush with water for 15 minutes and seek medical attention. If swallowed, drink two glasses of water and induce vomiting. Seek immediate medical attention. After vomiting, give water, milk or solution of sodium dichromate in water (1 teaspoon per quart). Do not give anything to an unconscious or convulsing person. Caution, contains heavy aromatic naphtha.

3.Use agitation or longer soak times for heavily soiled Items,
4.Wipe dry with a clean cloth, or use forced air to accelerate evaporation. A thin film of  RXSOL-10-1744-025  will evaporate completely in 5-8 minutes.
5.Repeat stops 1-4 as needed.

Product Note:
It contains hydrocarbons. If ingested, do not induce vomiting.
Its fumes are non toxic, non narcotic and have a fresh citrus odor. Use in areas having at least normal room ventilation.
It is minimally irritating if splashed into eyes, Wash, eyes with water for 15 minutes.
It is combustible under specific conditions not encountered during normal use. Keep away from open flames and ignition sources. Use recommended cleaning procedures.
