Fluorosilicic acid (H2SiF6) is manufactured and sold as aqueous (water) solutions. The solutions are clear, colorless liquids that have a slightly sharp, pungent odor. Common industrial solution strength concentrations are 20 % and 40% in water.
Fluosilicic acid can be obtained as a major byproduct of the phosphate fertilizer industry. It can be used in the preparation of sodium fluorosilicate, via neutralization with sodium chloride. It can also undergo neutralization with ammonia to produce ammonium fluoride and silica.

Product Application:
Concentrated fluorosilicic acid solution (FSA) is used for water fluoridation, as a metal surface treatment and cleaner and for pH adjustment in industrial textile processing or laundries. It can also be used in the processing of hides, for hardening masonry and ceramics and in the manufacture of other chemicals. FSA can only exist as a liquid. There is no solid form. Fluorosilicic acid solutions are corrosive and contact can severely irritate and burn the skin and eyes causing possible permanent eye damage. Breathing concentrated fluorosilicic acid solutions can severely irritate and burn the nose, throat, and lungs, causing nosebleeds, cough, wheezing and shortness of breath. Many of the symptoms described are due to the hydrogen fluoride present as an impurity.

Product Note:
Inhalation or ingestion of large amounts of concentrated fluorosilicic acid solution can cause nausea, vomiting and loss of appetite. Exposure to high concentrations or long term exposures to lower concentrations can cause fluoride poisoning with stomach pain, weakness, convulsions and death. It can also cause deposits of fluorides in bones and teeth, a condition called fluorosis. This may cause pain, disability and discoloration of teeth.

Zinc Chloride is a chemical compound, which is composed of zinc and chlorine. It is a hygroscopic white crystalline ionic salt with the chemical formula ZnCl2. Zinc Chloride is soluble in mediums such as water, glycerol, ether and alcohol. Since Zinc chloride is a deliquescent, it must be protected from sources of moisture such as water vapor.
Zinc chloride has the ability to react with metal oxides (MO) to give derivatives of the formula MZnOCl2.This reaction is relevant to the utility of ZnCl2 solution as a flux for soldering — it dissolves oxide coatings, exposing the clean metal surface. Fluxes with ZnCl2 as an active ingredient are sometimes called “tinner’s fluid”. Typically this flux was prepared by dissolving zinc foil in dilute hydrochloric acid until the liquid ceased to evolve hydrogen; for this reason, such flux was once known as “killed spirits”. Because of its corrosive nature, this flux is not suitable for situations where any residue cannot be cleaned away, such as electronic work.[citation needed] This property also leads to its use in the manufacture of magnesia cements for dental fillings and certain mouthwashes as an active ingredient.

Product Application:
Since it reacts with metal oxides to yield compounds with the general formula MZnOCl2 (Where M is the metal), zinc chloride is used as a flux/cleaning agent for soldering purposes. These fluxes have the ability to dissolve the layer of oxides on the surface of the metal. Some other uses of this compound are listed below.
In its molten state, this compound acts as a catalyst for some aromatization reactions. For example, hexamethyl benzene can be obtained from methanol with the help of a molten ZnCl2
Since it acts as a moderately strong Lewis acid, this compound can also serve as a catalyst for the Fischer indole synthesis reaction and some Friedel-Crafts acylation reactions.
The Lucas reagent is a solution of anhydrous zinc chloride and concentrated hydrochloric acid. This reagent is very useful in the preparation of alkyl chlorides.
A mixture of zinc oxide and hexachloroethane is used in some smoke grenades. Upon ignition, these compounds react to form a smoke of zinc chloride, which serves as a smokescreen.
ZnCl2 is also useful in fingerprint detection since it forms an easily detectable complex with Ruhemann’s purple.
The aqueous solutions of this compound, when diluted, can be used for disinfecting purposes. It is a constituent of several antiseptic mouthwash products.

Zinc chloride is highly corrosive if ingested and is also a strong irritant if inhaled. Zinc chloride is extremely corrosive and ingestion of even10 mL of a 35 % solution can result in oropharyngeal and gastric burns, epigastric tenderness, pharyngeal oedema, haematemesis and melaena.

A flux is used to remove oxide films, promote wetting, and prevent reoxidation of the surfaces during heating. Zinc Ammonium Chloride is used to prepare the flux bath which cleaned iron or steel, usually in sheet form, is passed throughe before going through the galvanizing itself. Intermetallic compounds of iron and zinc are formed on the surface of the steel or iron being treated by heating it in the presence of finely divided zinc below the melting point of the zinc. In another, molten zinc is applied in a fine spray to the surface of the cleaned iron or steel; the zinc adheres tightly to the surface, which ccalls hot-dip process. Commercially solid and triple salt of Zinc Ammonium Chloride are used mainly.

Product Application:

  • Fluxing solutions are mainly used in hot-dip galvanizing for pre-treatment of steel surfaces. This double salt solution is stored at an approximate concentration of 500 g / l and a temperature around 60 degrees C into which the pieces are dipped after pickling and washing and are then inserted into the molten zinc bath.
  • The main function of flux is to prevent oxidation of the metal before it contacts the zinc bath.
  • The solutions are also widely used for pre-treatment of metals before welding, and in the tin immersion process.

Metakleen Soltex  is a strong non caustic alkaline cleaner designed for use in the food and related industries in situations where the use of a caustic material is not indicated either for safety reasons or where susceptible materials are involved, for example aluminum and zinc.   • Removal of heavy grease, oil or carbonised deposits from caustic-sensitive manufacturing, processing, handling or transfer equipment, e.g. aluminium baking trays.

Using Procedure:

  • Do not allow Metakleen Soltex to dry onto aluminium, glass or paintwork before rinsing.
  • Metakleen Soltex may be used cold or with hot water between 50-60°C at dilutions between 1:10 and 1:100 depending on the degree of soiling.
  • Metakleen Soltex may be applied manually with brush or cloth or used via hand-spray or high-pressure washer.
  • For hard coating removal, carbon, paint etc. Metakleen Soltex is most commonly used in purpose designed, heated immersion baths. Tanks should be constructed of welded steel with lids. Set temperature at 85°C and ensure immersion period of at least 2 hours. Periodic removal and a light wire brushing of components with the most stubborn coatings is beneficial.
  • Rinse with water.

Product Application:
The correct quantities of RXSOL-11-1052-025 requirement for descaling will depend upon the character and thickness of scale deposits.  For regular de-scaling of dish washing machines prepare a 2- 4% solution with cold water, and fill the tank just below the overflow level, heat the mixture and allow to run machine until lime scale deposits disappear.   Apply full strength to highly contaminated  areas where spray does not reach.  Drain the tank and fill with cold water and run the machine for 5 minutes and flush with water until the outlet water shows neutral  pH.  Good results are obtained when descaling is done at 60 Deg. Dip tank method can be used for brightening aluminum, stainless steel equipments and utensils.  Prepare a 3 -5% solution of RXSOL-11-1052-025   with water and soak the utensils for a while to obtain a bright surface.  Wash thoroughly with cold water and rinse dry.

Use instructions
1. Fill 3/4 parts of  kettle with water  and makes it boil fully , then disconnect heating procedure before going to 2nd step.

3. After cleaning effect flush / wash with fresh water.

Using Procedure:
This is mixed with fresh water 3 to 20 percent depending on deposition of scaling. After using SA-1008, sense all metal surfaces with 0.5 percent of RXSOL-54-1008-025 at least 2-4 houses , up to neutral of PH valve.
Procedure-of-use: The most effective descaling is accomplished by circulation. In the case of small components, the soak method in an immersion bath can be used. If the equipment to be cleaned is contaminated by oil, grease or sludge, then pre-cleaning with DEGREASER ( RXSOL OB 1005 ) is necessary. Depending on the extent of scaling, use a solution of 2.5-10% RXSOL-54-1008-025 . The solution will have a red colour which changes to orange when 85% of the acid has been neutralized , & to colourless  when the solution is totally neutralized. Whenever possible, the solution should be heated to 60°C.Neutralised  solutions can be re-activated by adding more RXSOL-54-1008-025  until the red colour reappears. This should not be done more than twice. RXSOL-54-1008-025  should not be used on Aluminium , Zinc, Tin or Galvanized surfaces.

Scales are very damaging to the boiler because they interfere with the heat transfer and can lead to overheating and eventually, boiler rupture , To increas usable life of cleaned equipment , it is safe and effective way to remove scale deposits from all types of water-cooled and water-heated equipment. This descaler specifically formulated and developed to rapidly clean mineral scale from passages in water-cooled or heated equipment. It improves Plant Efficiency, Lowers Cost, Conserves Energy, Decreases Down-Time.
It does not contain toxic cresols or other tar oils that Require SARA Title III, Section 313 spill loss or disposal.

Do not use concentrated 1008 on aluminium surfaces
Uniqueness of 1008 :: —
RXSOL 1008 Descaler has the ability to dissolve approximately 1.5kg of calcium carbonate scale per gallon in concentrated form. It does not need to be heated up during cleaning. The uniqueness of this Descaler allows you to clean some equipment while still in operation utilizing a minimum of your own personnel.

It Effectively Removes Scale, Heavy Slime and Algae from the surface. RXSOL 555 is an inhibited phosphoric acid descaler which is much safer and non-fuming. Also  safe on paint.
Using Procedure:
RXSOL-11-1008-020  is mixed with fresh water 3 to 20 percent depending on deposition of scaling.
The most effective method is circulation for large systems or components like boilers, evaporators, condensers, heat exchangers and generally closed systems that have the capability to circulate at a temperature of approximately 40-60°C, for 6-12 hours and solutions of 5-40% of RXSOL-11-1008-020 in water. Keep in mind that the strength of the solution is analogous to the degree of deposition of scale .
In case of small components , the soak method in an immersion bath can be used.
If the equipment to be cleaned is contaminated by oil, grease, sludge or carbonized oil, then first of all clean the system with degreaser  RXSOL-10-1005. RXSOL-11-1008-020 should be mixed with fresh water to form a solution of 10-30%, depending on the extent of scaling. After using RXSOL-11-1008-020 ,
PRECAUTION :::it is essential to thoroughly rinse all metal surfaces at least once with a 0.5% solution of  RXSO-20-2005  in fresh water. This solution should be circulated for 2-4 hours or until an acceptable pH value is obtained. This will neutralize any remaining acidity & passivate steel surfaces.
RXSOL-11-1008-020 should not be used on Aluminium, Zinc, Tin, or any Galvanized Surfaces for which a special grade cleaner should be used.
